W1 – “Peak Forest Canal” 82miles 26 locks


Traveling North through the Harecastle tunnel to Harding’s wood junction, where you turn off on to the Macclesfield canal, which skirts along the edge of the Peak district, before turning again on to the peak forest canal to your destination at Whaley Bridge.

Places to visit on your trip mow Cop castle and Clarence Mill.



SB1 “Churnet valley” - Traveling along the caldon canal, taking in one or both arms to Leek and Froghall along the churnet valley though scenic countryside with good canal side pubs.

Week Routes

W2 - “Caldon Canal”

Very easy weeks cruise allowing for plenty of relaxation time to enjoy the churnet valley and all it has to offer. Taking in both arms to Leek and Froghall along the churnet valley though scenic countryside with good canal side pubs. Possibly passing back past the base and down to the town of stone. Places to visit Flint Mill, Alton Towers, and Wedgewood.



W3 – “Cheshire Ring” 110miles 92locks

For the more active boater through the Harecastle tunnel on to the Macclesfield canal to Manchester, on to the Bridgewater canal to Middlewich passing by the famous Anderton boat lift, after which a section with plenty of locks takes you back to our base at festival gardens.

Places to visit on your trip Mow cop castle, museum of science and industry in Manchester, little Moreton Hall.

W3 – “Four Counties Ring” 111miles 94 locks

Again an energetic weeks cruise possibly better enjoyed over 10 days to two weeks the four counties ring takes you to Middlewich, Market Drayton, Autherly junction Great Haywood, the market town of Stone and finally to Etruruia and wedgewood.
